Caregiving in Context: Focus on the African American Community

Family caregivers of individuals with a dementia diagnosis face many challenges as symptoms progress. Often, caregivers' health suffers as a result of the stress associated with negotiating these challenges. In the African American community, systemic racism and barriers to essential resources compound the stress intrinsic to dementia caregiving. Join us for this special program that examines how social context affects African American caregivers and ways to improve their overall wellbeing.

Keynote: "Challenges of Caregiving in the African American Community"--Fawn Cothran, PHD, RN (UC Davis)

Caregiver Panel--Moderated by Dr. Cothran
