Supporting the Parkinson's Care Partner

  • Divine Savior Catholic Church 9079 Greenback Lane Orangevale, CA, 95662 United States (map)

The diagnosis of a progressive disease like Parkinson's Disease (PD) has physical, emotional, financial and spiritual impacts on not only the PD patient, but their family and care partners as well. Family and/or Care Partners are an integral part of a PD person's successful treatment, well-being and quality of life. This presentation will explore how families can be involved with the treatment plan of care for PD patients by working with medical professionals and connecting with beneficial resources and support throughout the disease process. This presentation will also provide an overview of the services the Parkinson Association provides in our community.

Speakers: Lisa Mooney, LCSW Social Worker, Department of Neurology, UC Davis Health, & Michelle Coleman, Executive Director, Parkinson Association of Northern CA (PANC)
