Del Oro Caregiver Resource Center in cooperation with Alice's Embrace, is planning an extra special event for family caregivers caring for an individual with Alzheimer's disease. Alice's Embrace was founded in 2014 in memory of Alice Figueira, who passed away in 2011 after having Alzheimer's disease for nearly six years. When Alice was first diagnosed, her daughter, Diane, knit her a blanket. Throughout her illness, the blanket provided her with countless hours of warmth and comfort. After her mom passed away, Diane wanted to help others in the journey of Alzheimer's disease and created Alice's Embrace. The blankets and shawls arrive at Alice's Embrace from all across the country and are beautifully created by hundreds of talented people.
We would love for Alice's Embrace to provide these goodies to you, to give to the one you care for. We encourage you to bring your loved one to the event. Please RSVP to Del Oro Caregiver Resource Center by Monday, February 19th. There will be plenty of beautiful lap blankets and prayer shawls to choose from. Hope to see you there!
