While many new technologies and the so-called “biomarkers” of Alzheimer’s continue to come onto the scene, there remains the need for a sound evaluation of the “whole” person. In this talk, Dr. June Paltzer, California Licensed Psychologist and Board Certified Neuropsychologist, will discuss the role of a neuropsychologist in assessing the strengths and weaknesses of an individual’s cognition and everyday functions. She will also discuss
how a neuropsychologist supports the patient, his/her family and the patient’s medical team in planning treatment for the stages of a progressing dementia. In addition, Dr. Paltzer will discuss when to make a referral for a capacity evaluation (capacity for self-care, for making medical and/or financial decisions, for competency; guardianship, etc.). We hope you join us for this very informative workshop.
