For most of our workshops, limited in-home respite is available. If you need someone to care for your loved one so that you may attend a class, please indicate your need for respite upon registering.

Yvonne Speers, MSW, Program Coordinator with Kaiser Alzheimer’s/Dementia Program will provide information and tools for non-pharmacological behavior management for persons with dementia. Ms Speers will help you better understand the reasons your loved one may be exhibiting certain behaviors and offer practical solutions. July 29th  – Community Resources. Learn the resources available and how to connect to them.  Presented by Susan Stratman & Sara Morrison, Helpline

August 5th  – Body Mechanics. Become familiar with safe transfer techniques and their importance. Presented by Nancy McAtee, PT

August 12th   – Nutrition & Incontinence. Learn more about the importance of good nutrition for the elderly, and a discussion of incontinence and its impact on both the individual and the caregiver. Presented by Kelley Kull, RD & Theresa Thomas, RN, ET
